I am happy to accept all types of texts including academic work, business documents, marketing materials, works of fiction and non-fiction, web content and blog posts. I will mark up your document in MS Word using ‘Track Changes’ or, if it is a PDF, I will use Adobe ‘Comments and Highlights’ tools. I am also happy to work on hard copy using British Standard Institution proofreading marks.
The speed that I work at is dictated by factors such as the subject area, complexity and the general condition of the text as it is presented to me. The quote I supply will be affected by these factors, however, I always endeavour to charge reasonably and within the guidelines set by the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders.
If you are a student and your document is related to a course of study I will be happy to provide you with a quote at a reduced rate, but please be sure that you have the approval of your educational institution and a knowledge of its guidelines pertaining to proofreading.
I will provide you with a ‘no-obligation’ sample proofread of your document along with a quote. Following this (and assuming you are delighted with the sample and quote!) I will go ahead and proofread your document and return it to you within the agreed timeframe. I usually ask for an initial payment of fifty percent of the fee and a final payment on completion within a set period.
You will find my terms and conditions here. I will ask you to accept these before we start working together.
I will treat any information you might provide to me with the utmost care and probity. My privacy policy can be found here.
I am pleased to accept payment by bank transfer or PayPal.
