about me

I live in Northumberland in the North of England. In 2006 I graduated from Northumbria University with a BSc (Hons) in Information and Communication Management and in 2009 completed an MSc in Information and Library Management. More recently, in 2021 I completed the Essential Proofreading course with the Publishing Training Centre qualifying with a Merit. I am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.

In the early part of my career I spent several years in the UK public sector working with information and records systems and more recently worked for ten years in the voluntary sector as a service manager with a busy mental health charity. I have extensive experience of producing and reviewing materials for professional and public consumption and have been responsible for reviewing academic work, articles, non-fiction works, business plans/reports and funding applications. My LinkedIn profile can be found here.

I take a strong personal pride in everything I do and enjoy working in an open and flexible manner. Please visit my testimonials page to see my most recent client feedback.

I love reading and language and am particularly drawn to literature containing themes of Myth, Faerie and Folklore. Northumberland is a beautiful county and I enjoy walking in the Cheviot hills and along its many windswept beaches.
